Hi, I'm Kshitij.
I work at Pixxel and split my time between Bengaluru and Los Angeles. I grew up moving around primarily in this part of India and studied electrical and electronics engineering at BITS Pilani, of which I try to remember as much as I can.
theme:
I've spent the last four years (2019 - 2023) forgetting more than half of what I had learnt during my university years (2015 - 2019). I can't remember what Bessel functions are or why they are important. Or why a MOSFET behaves as an open switch in its cut-off region. Or what the difference between all the different vulnerabilities that arise out of speculative execution is. What I do remember is being supremely fascinated when I had learnt all of these things for the first time. And now that I look back, I realise that I could've documented them better and feel that same fascination towards these concepts again. I work on some pretty cool stuff these days and I hope to keep doing so, which is why I'm maintaining this website as documentation for my future self.
(December 2023)
few facts about me:
Dangerously prone to knee injuries. I tore my left ACL in November 2021 playing football and my right ACL + MCL in August 2023 playing badminton. If you would like to suggest newer ways of hurting my knees (or if you need recommendations for a good orthopaedic surgeon), feel free to reach out.
Excited about coming up with and listening to bad ideas. Want to test a satellite for shock? Throw the qualification model down a couple floors. Want to solve the space debris problem? Use launch vehicle fairings to sweep up dead satellites like a dustpan. Honestly, I feel that a bad idea is only a couple revisions away from being a not-so-bad idea. So if you have any bad ideas that you want to talk about, let me know.
Always hungry to learn about all things science & engineering. I am particularly interested if it has something to do with space/astronomy, synthetic biology, agriculture, or defense.
for startups:
- I work with the good people at gradCapital to evaluate startups for atomic fellowship, a $5,000 no-strings-attached grant for students who want to work on their dream science/engineering projects.
